Radiant Insulation – A Product We’re Keeping Our Eye On

If you’re like us, you’re looking forward to the cool fall weather. The time of year when it’s not blazing hot or freezing cold. But as we all know, this time of year is short and we’ll be back to the high and low extremes in no time. That is why the Fall is the right time to think about making your home more comfortable year-round.

As you may know, insulation is one of the most cost-effective improvements you can make to your home, and the results can improve your quality of life significantly.

Recently we installed a new type of insulation in some of our projects and the feedback we’ve been getting is nothing less than astounding. This new type of insulation, called radiant guard sheeting, actually looks a lot like aluminum foil. It works by reflecting the heat of the sun back out of the house, allowing the interior areas to maintain a much more consistent temperature.

These proprietary materials can be placed directly overtop of your current insulation. The material is only 11mm thick; about the same thickness of three kitchen trash bags. It’s very easy to install and comparably priced to traditional insulation.

Here’s what one of our clients had to say about her home after installing radiant insulation:

“That insulation in the attic is incredible! I felt a big difference with that this summer. That part of the house was much cooler than the part of the house under the attic that has regular insulation. Something for me to consider in the next year or two!”

There are several different brands available*, take a look at some of them below.

*At this point, we aren’t endorsing any particular product at this point. These links are for informational purposes only!
